Photos taken at the Gardon de St. Jean, the 16th of August 2002, in Cabrerets, 12th of July 2001, and Pont d'Aribal, 9th of July 2001, all in Southern France.

Note: The largest species occurring in the Netherlands, though not in Europe: Cordulegaster heros can get a few millimeters larger. Sexing is easy: only the female has an ovipositor, which is HUGE and clearly visible. This species is extremely rare in the Netherlands, but in some adjacent countries, it's abundant.
