Note: Lestes barbarus is the only European Lestid with a bi-colored pterostigma: brown at the inside and white at the outside. Occurs at ponds that get dry every once in a while, so can be abundant during and after dry years, but seems to disappear almost completely in wet years. Most abundant in some coastal dune areas.
