Caliaeshna microstigma, male
Caliaeshna microstigma (male)
Photo taken at at Saklikent, Turkey, 27th of May 2000

Note: Very common Aeshnid in Turkey. Easlilly recognized by its size (smaller than other Aeshnidae in the area), its coloration (which looks a little like that of Brachytron pratense when it's flying), its small pterostigmas (hence the name microstigma) and its behavior (flies low above small brooks, Cordulegaster-like, often in the shade and starts flying in the open in large numbers when it's getting dark.)
