Note: this beautiful dragonfly can be distinguished from other Onychogomphus species the easiest by looking at the appendages (see lower photo): the lower appendage looks almost like a tilde (~), whereas the lower appendage of O. forcipatus albotibialis looks more like a "J" turned 90 degrees clockwise.
